Rex Membra.

I've been itching to break out and explore printmaking for some (other) favourite bands of mine... and when Radiohead announced their first Colorado performance in nearly nine years, I was eager to start toying with some ideas.

Rex Membra (latin for king of limbs) is my interpretation of the sovereign timber... a translation from the king of dinosaurs. Lauding the big-bellied oak tree of the Savernake Forest (Wiltshire), I played with the annual rings and tied-in the rex-rooted limbs. [Over the course of the creative phases, I alternated spinning The King of Limbs and T-Rex's The Slider on my turntable, to get just the right inspiration.]

Rex Membra is a limited edition screen print run of 100 on archival 100lb Cougar opaque white paper (24" x 18"), all signed and numbered. Please contact me if you are interested in pre-ordering a print... I'll take requests for numbers on a first come-first serve basis, and will begin shipping orders later this week. Price is $35 including shipping/handling, reinforced postertube, etc. to anywhere in the US/Canada.

PYITN Sold Out: Artist Proofs Available.

Thank you to everyone for the generous support and love in New York. The Punch You In The NYE prints (red edition of 125) are now sold out, and I do not plan on reprinting them. However, the APs (artist proofs) are now available. This is a very limited run of proofs (17 total) with the same screens on a lime green variant paper. I will only sell twelve, and they are $35 each ($45 including shipping in a reinforced poster tube). Please contact me if you are interested.

Punch You In The NYE.

Phish is coming back to New York City to ring in (yet) another new year... with (yet) another spectacular four-night run at the legendary Madison Square Garden. As the shows approach quickly, I am happy to introduce my newest screen print to celebrate the hoopla and hysteria of the main events.

The Garden is home to some of the most illustrious fights in boxing history, and I wanted to create a parallel to the nine-rounds of Phish looming to close 2011, and welcome 2012. Punch You In The NYE is a salute to the late great Joe Frazier and the monumental Fight Of The Century with Muhammad Ali in 1971... at none other than, Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.

PYITN is a limited edition screen print run of 125 on archival 100lb Royal Complements Haute Red paper (18" x 24"), all signed and numbered. Please contact me if you are interested in pre-ordering a print... I'll take requests for numbers on a first come-first serve basis, and will ship pre-orders BEFORE I leave for New York (until December 20). Orders placed after December 20 will ship on January 5. Price is $35 including shipping/handling, reinforced postertube, etc. to anywhere in the US/Canada. Prints will be available for $25 on the streets of Manhattan, circling the Garden each of the four nights. If you miss me at the shows and prints remain, I will be happy to send you one (you'll just have to pick up the shipping costs)...

Mind The Skipper.

Having been out of the States for a year, I'm stoked to see Phish in just my second week back... in beautiful Lake Tahoe! And, in anticipation of this (soon-to-be) epic two-night stand, I've been working for weeks on a print to celebrate Phish's first-ever Tahoe shows.

Mind The Skipper is a limited edition screen print run of 125 on 100lb Cougar paper (24" x 18"), all signed and numbered. Please contact me if you are interested in pre-ordering a print... I'll take requests for numbers on a first come-first serve basis, and start shipping orders as soon as I return from the shows (on Thursday). Price is $35 including shipping/handling, reinforced postertube, etc. to anywhere in the US/Canada. Prints will be available for $25 in the lots at Harvey's Outdoor Arena this Tuesday and Wednesday. If you miss me at the shows and prints remain, I will be happy to send you one (you'll just have to pick up the shipping costs)...

As always, thank you for the support.

Impulzus: Vibrations of Kaposvár.

As my days in Hungary diminish, and my memories expand, I reflect on an incredible year exploring Europe. Searching for (and finding) infinite inspiration, I am refreshed with artistic drive and look forward to exploring different avenues once I settle in to Stateside life again this autumn.

In my final days of teaching at Munkácsy Mihály Gimnázium, I decided to pay tribute to the artist the school is named after... expressing my appreciation for all the school and the community has done to support me. Kaposvár has been, and will continue to be, home to me and I am grateful for the new perspective I have gained here. Impulzus, a psychedelic pastel painting of Munkácsy, represents the pulse I found within the city, paired with the bright colours that vibrate my soul.

European Influence: Move to Hungary.

Amidst a hectic year... composing prints for Phish in their recent renaissance to epic live form, creating a nationwide sneaker art fashion show with Vans, and teaching drawing/painting/printmaking full-time in Denver... I fell into an amazing break to further my career as an artist, my potential as a teacher, and my character as a person. I was recently granted a Fulbright Scholarship to teach art in Hungary for one year and I jumped on the opportunity. I will be creating, teaching, and exploring all things new in Eastern Europe for a while and then making my way back to the states to pick up where I left off...

In the meantime, I'll try to post updates on this blog concerning my artistic endeavors. I hope that I'll be able to create some fresh work while I'm here with all of my great new influences. As always I appreciate your loyalty and interest in my work... I am grateful for your support and look forward to sharing new work for years to come...

The Antelope Stakes.

Just in time... I finished production for my one and only summer print just before arriving at SPAC! I've been so incredibly busy this spring, but I was able to work up a print for one set of Phish shows... the two-night run at the legendary Saratoga Performing Art Center.

Saratoga Springs is home to the oldest organized sporting venue in the United States (Saratoga Race Course), and so I decided to play with the concept of the Travers Stakes... transposing the horse race into an antelope race coming out of SPAC... naturally. Phish so graciously validated my print by playing a killer Antelope on night two!

Thanks to all of you, both new supporters and loyal collectors of my art that I ran into this week. For those of you that didn't get a chance to score a print in the lots, I do have some prints remaining and will be filling orders as soon as I return to Denver. I will get back home around 5 July; please just shoot me an email and let me know how many you would like and where you want them shipped. Price is $25 plus shipping/packing materials. Thanks, as always, for your support...
